Overview

On this tour, you'll get the opportunity to explore the cultural and natural landmarks of Cyprus.

You'll start with a convenient pickup service from your hotel and will head to the village of Omodos, situated in the famous wine-producing region. You'll be able to take a stroll around the village and visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross, where a part of the Holy Rope of Jesus is kept.

After that, you'll travel to the sacred Kykkos Monastery, located in the Troodos mountains. You'll have the chance to see the place where Archbishop Makarios III, the first President of Cyprus, is buried and the icon of the Virgin Mary painted by the Apostle Luke. After some free time, you'll be able to explore the 12th-century Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery, built to honour Our Lady of the Golden Pomegranate.

  • Kykkos Monastery Troodos: Kykkos, one of the holiest and richest monasteries in Cyprus. It is here that the first President of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios became a young monk, and was later buried according to his wishes. Among the most important treasures of the monastery is the icon of the “Virgin Mary”, which was reputedly painted by the Apostle Luke himself. We will also be able to see many religious relics of other saints.
  • Free time for lunch at Pedoulas
  • Omodos: Our first stop is at Omodos, a beautiful village located in the famous wine-producing area of Afames, in the Limassol district. We will walk through the cobbled streets to the village square which is lined with cafes and shops selling local produce. We will visit the monastery of the Holy Cross, which houses a piece of the rope used by the Romans to fasten Jesus to the cross, and see the old wine press, glass makers and other craftsmen.
